Acura is the luxury vehicle division of Japanese automaker Honda, and was the first Japanese automotive luxury brand. In the late 1980s, the success of their first vehicle, the Acura Legend, inspired fellow Japanese automakers Toyota and Nissan to launch their own luxury brands, Lexus and Infiniti. Acura’s current product line features three sedans (ILX,TLS,RLX) and two SUVs (MDX and RDX).
Acura began an association with Marvel Entertainment in 2010, which made Acura the “official brand” of Marvel's fictional S.H.I.E.L.D. organization. Several Acura models appeared in the films Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, and The Avengers, which featured Iron Man (played by Robert Downey, Jr.) driving an exotic sportscar by Acura, made specifically for the film (see it here). Acura’s RLX model introduced Acura's Jewel Eye LED headlights in 2012. Still sporting halogens on your Acura? Upgrade your Acura model with HIDs today.
